About Fader
Fader is a free, independent tactical shooter that you play in a web browser at fader.lol. It is made by Kerem, a solo developer, as a passion project.
What Fader is
Fader brings the feel of classic competitive shooters to the browser: bomb defusal rounds, a team economy, spray patterns, grenades and fast movement, with bots that plan, hold sites, rotate and retake. You can play alone against bots at four difficulty levels or invite friends to a lobby with a link. It runs on almost any computer with a modern browser, with graphics settings down to a "very low" mode for older laptops.
Besides the classic 5v5 mode there are Wingman (2v2), Gun Game, Chaos FFA, Bhop parkour courses and Missions. The maps are all original and designed for close, tactical fights: a night market crossed by a tram, a mountain observatory hit by blizzards, a fairground with a spinning carousel and more. The How to play guide describes every mode and map.
Free to play, with no real money
Fader is completely free. There are no purchases of any kind: you earn keys and items only by playing, and they can't be bought, sold or exchanged for money. The site is kept running by advertising.
An unofficial fan project
Fader is inspired by the tactical shooters its developer grew up playing. It is an unofficial fan project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Valve Corporation or any other game company. All game names and trademarks belong to their owners. The game's code, maps and built-in art are Fader's own; players can optionally load their own game files in the Settings tab, which stay on their own computer and are never uploaded.
What's new
Fader is updated often. Recent additions include the Monsoon, Summit, Carnival and Sky Ruins maps, better bot behaviour around flashbangs and smokes, and a two-kills-per-gun Gun Game.
