Fader (fader.lol) is a free browser game. This page explains what information the site keeps, why, and the choices you have. Fader does not sell your personal information.

What Fader stores about you

Your game account

When you first play, Fader creates a guest account so your keys, items and progress can be saved. It stores:

• A random account ID and an in-game name (a generated one such as "Player 1234", or one you choose).
• If you create a username and password: the username and a salted, hashed version of your password and recovery code. The password itself is never stored.
• If you sign in with Discord: your Discord user ID, display name and avatar picture address. Fader only asks Discord for your basic identity, not your email, friends or messages.
• Your keys, items, equipped items, level, match statistics (kills, deaths, wins and similar), daily reward streak, and a record of case openings, upgrades and case battles.

Security and abuse prevention

To stop automated abuse, Fader counts how many accounts, logins and contact messages come from one internet address per hour. It stores only a one-way hash of the address together with the hour, and these counters are not linked to your account.

Contact messages

If you use the contact form, Fader stores the name, email address and message you send so it can reply.

Stored only on your own device

• Your settings (sensitivity, crosshair, graphics, chosen mode and map) are kept in your browser's local storage.
• If you load your own game files in Settings, they are saved in your browser (IndexedDB) so you don't have to load them again. They are never uploaded to Fader.
• Whether you have already seen the How to play screen.

Cookies

Fader's own cookie

Fader sets one essential cookie, sl_s, which keeps you signed in to your account. It lasts up to 400 days, or until you log out. The game can't save your items without it.

Advertising cookies (Google AdSense)

Fader shows ads provided by Google AdSense. Google and its partners are third-party vendors that use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website and to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

• You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at www.aboutads.info.

• Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, through Google's consent message.

Other services Fader uses

• Cloudflare hosts the site and database. Like any web host, it processes your IP address and basic request information to deliver pages and protect against attacks.
• Google Fonts and public code libraries (cdnjs, jsDelivr) deliver fonts and the 3D engine; your browser requests them directly.
• Discord, only if you choose to sign in with it.

How long data is kept

Account data is kept while the account exists. Login sessions expire after 400 days. Abuse counters are hourly and old ones are no longer used. Contact messages are kept until they are answered and no longer needed.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the data linked to your account at any time. Use the contact page, choose "Privacy or data deletion" and include your in-game name. You can clear everything stored on your own device by clearing this site's data in your browser. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have further rights, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Fader is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and it will be deleted.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
